A FLORAL AFFAIR

WHILE THE RISE of local independent businesses like crafts, bakes, apparel and accessories remains abundant, she chose to stem something a little out of the ordinary. She chose the art of perfecting floral arrangements with lace trims, doilies, white ribbons and brown paper. For Cherriesmitten, its grail is to smitten others with poised simplicity and delicateness.

Her passion blossomed at a shop house full of flowers and vases two years ago. Having no prior experience in business or handling flowers after graduating from a Diploma in Communication and Information Design, Nur Juizyan Jaffery took a perilous leap to pursue this floral affair.

As guileless as it gets, she cites her inspiration from the clarity of the color white.  The pureness of the color ensues innocence similar to the type of flowers she frequently deals with. There is nothing too extravagant and loud with Cherriesmitten. Even when handling bright colors, Izyan ensures that she adds an element that can abate her floral arrangement. She makes it seem like a cinch duty to choose the right type of flowers according to its size, color and even texture.

I USUALLY RECOLLECT IDEAS FROM RUSTICITY AND MINIMALISM.

As much as she loves her peonies, she can’t always work with it. Not only does she have to abide to her client’s requests, she also have to work according to the different seasons of blooms. Though her adaptive curations are a constant challenge, it’s synchronously an experimentation of fresh new ideas.

To ensure she delivers the freshest quality of flowers to her clients, Izyan takes pride in personally hand picking her own blooms at the floral market instead of ordering them.

IT’S AN HONOUR TO BE A PART OF PEOPLE’S DREAM AND LOVE STORIES, I ONLY WANT THE BEST FOR THEM,

Cherriesmitten has achieved a plausible note of achievement for a relatively new online business. They are proud to be one of the vendors of The Dreamers Soiree, a committee that provides for events services. It holds several other local based businesses such as Fluff Bakery, Satayboy, Two Guys Film and Eyecandy-licious.

As of now, Izyan is in the midst of collaborating with The Shawl Label, based in Morocco and Singapore, and Airisu, a photography cum videography service. In between orders and collaborations, she has also been offering floral arrangement classes. She bears hope that she would be able to expand Cherriesmitten into a floral café in the near future. “Think acoustic songs in the background, flowers and desserts!”
